Step-by-Step: How to Paint Furniture
1. Prepare the Surface
- Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free of grease
- Lightly sand to improve adhesion
- Remove old, flaky paint and feather edges
- Sand varnished surfaces to eliminate shine
2. Treat Resinous Knots
- Scrape off excess resin, clean with white spirit, and allow to dry
- Prime with Wood Primer & Undercoat where needed
3. Prime the Entire Piece
- Apply one coat of Wood Primer & Undercoat in the correct tone
- Let dry for 4 hours before painting
4. Paint the Furniture
- Apply two coats of Modern Eggshell, allowing 4 hours between coats
- Use a fine-tipped synthetic brush for the best finish
